CCSD59 turns students into critical thinkers, ready for the world

We want to build deep thinkers who can choose the path they want in this changing world.

Benjamin Grey, Assistant Superintendent for Innovative Learning and Communication at Community Consolidated School District 59

Challenge

CCSD59 aims to foster independent learners with critical thinking skills. It faces the challenge of delivering on this promise to a diverse student population of 6,700 K through eight students across four different communities.

Solution

The district assembled a technology committee to explore how technology could amplify learning while encouraging students to choose their own path. Schools across the district use Chromebooks and Google Play for Education to offer different tools for different learning needs.
